MUDAKATHAN DOSAI RECIPE/ BALLON VINE DOSA RECIPE preparation with step by step photos and quick video.Do you have joint paints ? If yes, then you must have balloon vine (“Mudakathan Keerai in Tamil”) in your diet. Due to bitter taste of Balloon vine , we can’t directly cook and have it like other herbs.So we can include this herb in rice batter to make out dosa. Garlic chutney is perfect side dish for Balloon vine dosa . This batter can be preservate in fridge for couple of days.
MUDAKATHAN DOSAI RECIPE/ BALLON VINE DOSA RECIPE
Ingredients
- Idli rice – 1 cup
- Fenugreek seeds – 2 tbsp
- Mudakathan keerai (baloon vine leaves) – 1 cup packed
- Salt - to taste
Directions
- Step 1 Soak idli rice with vendhayam (fenugreek seeds) for 3 hrs.
- Step 2 Pick just the leaves from the balloon vine, discarding the stalks. Wash and clean the leaves.
- Step 3 Mudakathan keerai (baloon vine leaves) drain from water and place it in the mixer and graind smooth paste.
- Step 4 Add drained rice, methi seeds into the same keerai paste and add little water. Grind smoothly.
- Step 5 Pour the ground batter in a vessel. Let it ferment for 8 hours. It will rise well.
- Step 6 Add salt & water, mix and make it smooth.
- Step 7 It should be pouring consistency as shown.
- Step 8 Heat tawa and spread a ladle full of batter. you can spread thin or thick depending on your preference..Drizzle oil over the sides and in the middle
- Step 9 Cook till it becomes golden in the center and the edges.
- Step 10 Flip to other side and cook for 2mins turn again flip over and fold it.
- Step 11 Remove from tawa
- Step 12 Serve with Garlic Chutney .

MAKING OF MUDAKATHAN DOSAI RECIPE/ BALLON VAINE DOSAI RECIPE:
