Murungai Keerai / Drumstick leaves / Moringa leaves are an excellent source of many vitamins and minerals. It has rich amount of Vitamin A, B6, C and iron. One who consumes moringa leaves in a week can witness lower blood sugar. It also protects hair and nourishing it. Since it has high amount of calcium, it will makes the bones stronger. We should avoid making this dish for dinner since it could create digestion problem.

MURUNGAI KEERAI PORIYAL RECIPE / DRUMSTICK LEAVES STIR FRY / MORINGA LEAVES RECIPE preparation with step by step photos and quick video.

Ingredients
  • Drumstick Leaves – 2 cups tightly packed
  • Shallot – 1cup finely chopped
  • Red chilli-2
  • Coconut(grated) – 1/4th cup
  • Salt- to taste
  • To Temper :
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
  • Urad Dal – 1 tsp
Directions
  • Step 1 Take the pan & heat the oil
  • Step 2 Add mustrad seed and let it splutter
  • Step 3 Add urad dal
  • Step 4 Add chopped Shallot(small onion) and saute it well
  • Step 5 Add red chilli. Saute it till onions turns to transparent
  • Step 6 Add Drumstick Leaves and Saute till raw smell leaves
  • Step 7 Cover it and cook for 10 minutes (If its a tender Drumstick Leaves, please do not add water). If the leaves are tender it may cook fast.
  • Step 8 Add salt and grated coconut. Saute it well.
  • Step 9 Serve it hot with white rice.

MAKING OF MURUNGAI KEERAI PORIYAL RECIPE / DRUMSTICK LEAVES STIR FRY / MORINGA LEAVES RECIPE:

 

  1.  Take the pan & heat the oil

3. Add urad dal

4. Add chopped Shallot(small onion) and saute it well

5. Add red chilli. Saute it till onions turns to transparent

6. Add Drumstick Leaves and Saute till raw smell leaves
