Nattu Kozhi kulambu/Saaru (Country Chicken Gravy) is good to clear congestion associated with colds. This recipe is made by my Mom who is preparing this from last 30 years. In these recipes, she used very less masala and spice is rely only on pepper and Red chilli. When you prepare this in thin form, you would love to have it with Rice or Dosa.

Ingredients
- Nattu Kozhi (Country Chicken) - 1 kg
- Small onion - 1 cup chopped
- Coriander powder - 50 gms
- Jeera - 1 tbsp
- Pepper - 1 tsp
- Red chilli - 12
- Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
- Coconut - 1/4 th cup
- Garlic- 5
- green chilli -1
- Oil - 6 tbsp
Directions
- Step 1 Take a pan add oil.
- Step 2 Add red chilli and saute it well. Keep it aside
- Step 3 Add jeera & pepper and saute it well.
- Step 4 Add coriander powder and saute it well in low flame. Keep it aside
- Step 5 Add small onions
- Step 6 Add garlic and curry leaves. Saute it well
- Step 7 grind masala mix along with coconut in the smooth paste
- Step 8 Heat a pressure cooker and add Gingelly /Sesame oil.
- Step 9 Add mustard seeds and let it splutter
- Step 10 Add onion, green chilli and curry leaves and saute it well
- Step 11 Add washed and cleaned chicken pieces(Nattu Kozhi) and saute well until raw smell leaves.
- Step 12 Add turmeric powder, salt and saute it well
- Step 13 Add prepared masala paste and saute it well
- Step 14 Add required water and cover the lid
- Step 15 Pressure cook for 10 whistles.
- Step 16 Once pressure releases, open the lid and add coriander leaves.

11. Add washed and cleaned chicken pieces(Nattu Kozhi) and saute well until raw smell leaves.
12. Add turmeric powder, salt and saute it well
13. Add prepared masala paste and saute it well
14. Add required water and cover the lid.
15.Pressure cook for 10 whistles.
16. Once pressure releases, open the lid and add coriander leaves.
