Peanuts are low in carbs and high in protein. Peanuts contain various healthy nutrients and help to reduce weight. It also reduces the risk of heart disease. We mostly make chutney based on gram dal and in hotels too. If you got bored with the gram dal chutney, you could try this recipe. I personally prefer this chutney over gram dal coconut chutney.

Ingredients
- Peanuts -1 cup
- Small Onion(Shallots) -10
- Red Chillies -5
- Garlic -4 pearls
- Tamarind small piece
- Salt - to taste
- To Temper:
- Oil -2 tbsp
- Mustard seeds-1 tsp
- Urad dal-1 tsp
- Chana dal -1 tsp
- Curry leaves - few
Directions
- Step 1 Take a pan and add one cup of peanut. Dry roast till the peanuts start to separate the skin.
- Step 2 Allow to cool down and remove the skin completely.
- Step 3 Transfer the peanuts to the Mixer
- Step 4 Take a pan and add oil
- Step 5 Add chana dal
- Step 6 Add urad dal and saute it well
- Step 7 Add red chilli and saute it well
- Step 8 Add small onion
- Step 9 Add garlic cloves and saute it well
- Step 10 Add small piece tamarind and saute it well
- Step 11 Transfer to the blender.
- Step 12 Add salt to taste.
- Step 13 Add water and blend to smooth consistency
- Step 14 Heat the tadka pan and add oil
- Step 15 Add chana dal
- Step 16 Add urad dal
- Step 17 Add mustard seeds and let it splutter
- Step 18 Add curry leaves and saute it well
- Step 19 Pour the tempering over peanut chutney and serve it for hot idli or dosa
