Thinai Laddu / Foxtail Millet Honey Lddu /Sugar-Free /Zero Fat -Healthy Ladoo /Thinaiyum Thenum Recipe preparation with step by step photos and a quick video
Ingredients
- Thinai(foxtail millet) -1 cup
- Honey - 3 tbsp
- Melted ghee - 3 tbsp
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 th tsp
Directions
- Step 1 Add thinai(foxtail millet)
- Step 2 Add water and rinse it well.
- Step 3 Add water and rinse it. Drain the water.
- Step 4 Let it dry for 30-45 mins. Just dry in room temperature and avoid direct sunlight.
- Step 5 Take a kadai and add dried thinai (foxtail millets) and saute it well in medium flame
- Step 6 once it will become crisp, you can notice the slight colour change as well. Switch off and cool down for a few mins.
- Step 7 Transfer to the mixie jar and grind it to a fine powder.
- Step 8 Take a mixing bowl and add thinai flour
- Step 9 Add cardamon powder
- Step 10 Add honey.
- Step 11 Add melted ghee and mix it well. Start shaping the laddus.
- Step 12 Shape the laddus and finish off the dough.

1. Add thinai(foxtail millet)

Recipe Notes:
Grind flour as fine as possible.
You can even add nuts
You could also use readymade thinai maavu/ Foxtail Millet powder too.
Add honey, once cool down the flour after grinding.
Instead of honey, you could also add jaggery syrup
