Ingredients
- Mathi Fish (Sardine) - ½ kg
- Shallots (small onion)- 20
- Garlic - 5 pearls
- Kulambu milagai thool - 2 tsp
- Red chilly powder - 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
- Coriander powder (optional) - 2 tsp
- salt -to taste
- Curry leaves - few
- Tamarind extract - ½ cup(small lime size )
- Green chilies - 2
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Mustard -½ tsp
- Fenugreek seed(methi seed) - ¼ ts
Directions
- Step 1 Take a kadai and add gingelly oil
- Step 2 Add mustard seeds
- Step 3 Add fenugreek seeds and let it splutter
- Step 4 Add onions
- Step 5 Add chopped garlic
- Step 6 Add curry leaves and saute it well
- Step 7 Add green chili
- Step 8 Add tomato and saute it well
- Step 9 Add turmeric powder
- Step 10 Add kulambu milagai thool
- Step 11 Add coriander powder
- Step 12 Add chilli powder and saute it for few minutes
- Step 13 Add tamarind extract and mix it well
- Step 14 Add water and mix it well
- Step 15 Cover the lid and cook it for 10 minutes
- Step 16 Add cleaned fish pices and gently mix
- Step 17 Cover the lid and cook for 2 minutes
- Step 18 Serve it hot with white rice/red rice.
