Instant jalebi recipe | Homemade crispy jalebi recipe preparation with step by step photos and a quick video. Jalebis are crispy sweets with a sugar syrup coating on it. It is very famous in West Bengal. I have seen people are having this as a breakfast. In traditional Jalebi making, they use ferment batter which requires a day at least. This a simple recipe that can be done within 20 mins. Initially, I struggled to get the right shape but after a couple of Jalebi’s, I had learned to get the right shape. But we no need to worry about that. I love to see Jalebi’s orange color, so I added orange food color. I had used a sauce bottle to pour the jalebi batter in oil. If you need thick jalebis, choose the bottle nozzle accordingly.

Instant jalebi recipe | Homemade crispy jalebi recipe preparation with step by step photos and a quick video.
Ingredients
- For Jalebi Batter:
- All purpose flour / maida - ½ cup
- Rice flour - 1 tbsp
- Yogurt / curd -1 tbsp
- Water- ¼ cup or as required
- food colour- ¼ tsp, optional
- For Sugar Syrup:
- Water -¼ cup
- Sugar -1 cup
- Oil for deep frying
- Lemon juice - ½ tsp
Directions
- Step 1 Preparing jalebi batter:
- Step 2 Take a mixing bowl and add maida
- Step 3 Add rice flour
- Step 4 Add curd
- Step 5 Add food color and mix it well
- Step 6 Add water and mix it well.Keep it aside
- Step 7 preparing sugar syrup
- Step 8 Take a pan and add sugar
- Step 9 add water and mix it well until sugar dissolves
- Step 10 Boil for few minutes
- Step 11 One string consistency in the sugar syrup.
- Step 12 Switch off the flame and add ½ tsp lemon juice. It helps to avoid crystallizing sugar syrup and keeps your jalebis crispy.
- Step 13 frying jalebis
- Step 14 Pour this batter in the tomato ketchup bottles
- Step 15 Squeeze the bottle and make round spirals with the batter.
- Step 16 Turn over and fry the other side.
- Step 17 Fry till the jalebis are a light golden.
- Step 18 Immediately drop the fried jalebis in the warm sugar syrup for 30 seconds (1 string consistency).
- Step 19 Dip and turn over so that both sides are coated with the syrup.
- Step 20 Serve jalebis hot or warm. Store the leftovers jalebi in an airtight container and refrigerated.

5. Add water and mix it well. Keep it aside

6. Take a pan and add sugar
7. Add water and mix it well until sugar dissolves
8. Boil for few minutes
9. One string consistency in the sugar syrup.
10. Switch off the flame and add ½ tsp lemon juice. It helps to avoid crystallizing sugar syrup and keeps your jalebis crispy.
frying jalebis:
11. Pour this batter in the tomato ketchup bottles

13. Turn over and fry the other side.
