Masala peanuts|Masala groundnuts are prepared by coating masala besan or chickpea flour along with spices. Masala coated peanuts will be fried in medium to low heat oil. Spicy and crunchy masala groundnut served ideally as tea time snack or starters. Haldiram brand is so popular in India to sell packed masala peanuts. But this can be quickly prepared at home and can be stored for a month in an airtight container. I personally like peanuts and I frequently prepare peanut chutney too.

Masala peanuts recipe | Masala kadalai recipe | Masala groundnuts preparation with step by step photos and a quick video.
Ingredients
- Raw peanuts-1 cup
- Gram flour - ½ cup
- Rice flour -2 tbsp
- Garlic -1,crushed
- Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
- Kashmiri red chilli powder -1 tbsp
- Garam masala powder -½ tsp
- Hot oil -1 tbsp
- Asafoetida (hing) -¼ tsp
- Salt to taste
- Water -2 tbsp
- Oil for deep fry
- Curry leaves - few
Directions
- Step 1 Take a large bowl and add raw peanuts
- Step 2 Add gram flour
- Step 3 Add rice flour
- Step 4 Add chilli powder
- Step 5 Add turmeric powder
- Step 6 Add salt
- Step 7 Add garam masala
- Step 8 Add hot oil
- Step 9 Add crushed garlic
- Step 10 Add asafoetida (hing) and mix it well together
- Step 11 Add water and mix it well
- Step 12 Slowly sprinkle the peanut mixture into hot oil and deep fry in medium flame.
- Step 13 Separate and fry until crisp and golden brown
- Step 14 Switch off and fry curry leaves at the end.
- Step 15 Garnish masala peanuts with fried curry leaves and enjoy.

1. Take a large bowl and add raw peanuts
2. Add gram flour
3. Add rice flour
4. Add chili powder
5. Add turmeric powder
6. Add salt
7. Add garam masala
8. Add hot oil
9. Add crushed garlic
10. Add asafoetida (hing) and mix it well together
11. Add water and mix it well
12. Slowly sprinkle the peanut mixture into hot oil and deep fry in medium flame.
13. Separate and fry until crisp and golden brown
14. Switch off and fry curry leaves at the end.
15. Garnish masala peanuts with fried curry leaves and enjoy.
