Ingredients
- Brinjal - 3 chopped
- Small onion - ¼ cup
- Garlic - 5 chopped
- Curry leaves -few
- Gingelly oil -2 tbsp
- Mustard - ½ tsp
- Turmeric powder -½ tsp
- Vadagam -½ tsp
- Water - ½ cup
- Salt - to taste
- Tamarind - 1 small lemon size
- Sambar powder - 2 tsp
- Red chili powder -1 tsp
Directions
- Step 1 Take a bowl and add tamarind extract
- Step 2 Add turmeric powder
- Step 3 Add sambar powder
- Step 4 Add red chilli powder
- Step 5 add salt and mix it well. Keep it aside.
- Step 6 Take a Kadai and add gingelly oil
- Step 7 Add mustard seeds and let it splutter
- Step 8 Add vadagam
- Step 9 Add curry leaves
- Step 10 Add small onion and saute it well
- Step 11 Add chopped garlic and saute it well
- Step 12 Add chopped brinjal and saute it for few minutes
- Step 13 Add tamarind and sambar powder mixture and mix it well
- Step 14 Add required water and mix it well
- Step 15 Cover the lid and cook for 10 minutes
- Step 16 Serve it hot with white rice/red rice.
