In this method,   I haven’t used any masala powders to keep it plain and make a healthy snack . While cooking, ensure that Chickpeas has completely boiled and shape is not changed. I have used few red chilies to add mild spice and more flavors. You must add coconut to make this snack more delicious. This dish is a ideal evening  snacks for kids  to increase the energy level.

Ingredients
  • Channa – 1 cup
  • Coconut grated– 2 tbsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • To Temper:
  • Oil -1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Urad dal – 1/2 tsp
  • Red Chillies – 2
  • Asafoetida(Hing) - pinch
  • Curry leaves – few
Directions
  • Step 1 Take one cup of channa and Soak for 8 hours.
  • Step 2 Drain the water from soaked channa.
  • Step 3 Take presure cooker and add soaked channa with 4-5cups of water.Add 1tsp of salt.
  • Step 4 pressure cook for until soft or 5 whistles.
  • Step 5 Take the pan and heat the oil
  • Step 6 Add mustard seeds & let it splutter.
  • Step 7 Add urad dal & let it splutter.
  • Step 8 Add dired red chilies
  • Step 9 Add Asafoetida(Hing), curry leaves and saute well
  • Step 10 Add cooked channa and saute well
  • Step 11 Add grated coconut and saute well
  • Step 12 Delicious sundal is ready .Its very healthy guilt free snack..

MAKING OF CHANNA SUNDAL RECIPE:

 

  1. Take one cup of channa (kondakadalai) and add water to soak for 8 hours.
