I personally like McDonald’s french fries compared to any other fast-food chains in India. After doing a bit of research on the internet, I tried this recipe when I was in home town a couple of months back and It came out really well. Once again I just replicated what I had done before. The recipe might look simple but it will test your patience. While frying, ensure that you had kept the flame in medium or low and use thick/heavy bottom pan.

Ingredients
- Potato -3
- oil -for deep frying
- salt to taste
Directions
- Step 1 Take a potato and rinse well in water and then peel the skin.
- Step 2 Then slice the potato in slices having 1 cm thickness. (Before slicing, you can remove the top and bottom part of the potato to get a square or rectangle-shaped potato)
- Step 3 Cut to a finger-sized piece with the perfect cube. Cut the remaining potato slices in sticks as well.
- Step 4 Take a bowl and add 3 cups of cold water and dunk the potato sticks in it and rest for 20 minutes
- Step 5 Take water and bring to boil and add salt and mix it well
- Step 6 Add potato sticks into the hot boiling water for 10 minutes. (this helps potato to cook slightly and fasten the process frying fries)
- Step 7 After 10 minutes, drain off the potato pieces into a kitchen towel and wipe off any extra water. Rest for 30 minutes
- Step 8 Take a heavy bottom pan and add oil.
- Step 9 Deep-fry directly in medium hot oil for 5 minutes or until potatoes turn brown and crispy.
- Step 10 Drain the finger chips once they are golden brown.
- Step 11 Sprinkle some salt and mix it well.
- Step 12 Serve hot with dips of your choice.
