Pirandai Thogayal recipe / Adament Creeper Chutney (Cissus quadrangularis )/pirandai thuvaiyal Recipe. preparation with step by step photos and quick video.

Ingredients
  • Pirandai(Cissus quadrangularis )-1 cup
  • Dired red chilli -3
  • Chana dal -1 tbsp
  • Urad dal -1 tbsp
  • Asafoetida (hing)- pinch
  • Garlic -2
  • Shallots (small onion)- 20
  • Tamarind(imli)-1 tsp
  • Grated coconut - 1/4 th cup
  • Sasame oil - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - to taste
Directions
  • Step 1 Heat up the pan first then add sasame oil – 1 tbsp
  • Step 2 Add chopped pirandai(Adament Creeper) and saute well.
  • Step 3 Once pirandai(Adament Creeper) turns golden colour then tranfer to the plate and keep aside.
  • Step 4 Using the same pan, add 1 tbsp of sasame oil and heat it.
  • Step 5 Add dried red chilli
  • Step 6 Add channa dal
  • Step 7 Add urad dal
  • Step 8 Add pinch of hing(Asafoetida)
  • Step 9 Saute well till the dals turns to golden colour
  • Step 10 Add garlic
  • Step 11 Add shallots(sambar onion)
  • Step 12 Saute well till the onions turn translucent.
  • Step 13 Add coconut and saute well
  • Step 14 Add tamarind and saute well
  • Step 15 Once cool the mixture completely, and transfer to the blender.
  • Step 16 Add salt and blend to slightly coarse paste by adding required water.

How To Clean Pirandai (adamant Creeper):

Apply sasame oil / nallennai all over your palm. Cut creeper with knife or scissor. Wash it and remove fiber from the sides of pirandai. Chop into smaller pieces and keep it aside

MAKING OF PIRANDAI THOGAYAL RECIPE / ADAMENT CREEPER CHUTNEY (CISSUS QUADRANGULARIS) / PIRANDAI THUVAIYAL RECIPE:

 

  1. Heat up the pan first then add sasame oil – 1 tbsp

2. Add chopped pirandai(Adament Creeper) and saute well.

3. Once pirandai(Adament Creeper) turns golden colour then tranfer to the plate and keep aside.

11. Add shallots(sambar onion)

12.Saute well till the onions turn translucent.

13.Add coconut and saute well

14.Add tamarind and saute well

15.Once cool the mixture completely, and transfer to the blender.

16.Add salt and blend to slightly coarse paste by adding required water.
