Ingredients
- Cholam(Sorghum) - 1 cup
- Urad Dal - ¼ cup
- Fenugreek seeds - 1tsp
- Idly rice - ½ cup
- Onion - 1 large finely chopped
- Green Chillies - 2 chopped finely
- Curry leaves -1 tbsp chopped finely
- Salt to taste
- Water -½ cup
Directions
- Step 1 Take a bowl and add Cholam(Sorghum)
- Step 2 Add idli rice
- Step 3 Add urad dal
- Step 4 Add fenugreek seeds
- Step 5 Add water and soak it for 8 hours
- Step 6 Once its soaked well, drain the water and transfer to the mixer. Grind in it smooth paste
- Step 7 Add salt and mix it well.
- Step 8 Keep covered and let it ferment at least for 8 hours.
- Step 9 Once fermented well, now give a nice mix. Keep it aside
- Step 10 Take a bowl and add chopped onion
- Step 11 Add curry leaves
- Step 12 Add chopped green chili and mix it well
- Step 13 Add Chola/Jowar/Sorghum batter
- Step 14 Add little water if it’s too thick.
- Step 15 Heat paniyaram pan.
- Step 16 Add little oil in each pit
- Step 17 Add chola paniyaram batter in each pit
- Step 18 Flip over the paniyaram and cook until turns golden brown
- Step 19 Serve hot with coconut chutney.
