Milk cake is undeniably one of the tastiest sweets that can be prepared at home very easily using milk. Milk Cake or Kalakand sweet is a rich decadent Indian sweet and tastes so delicious. This delicious milk cake is super easy to make but needs lots of patience. It requires only a few ingredients Milk, Sugar, Lemon juice, and Ghee. Traditionally it is prepared by solidifying the milk but in some variants, people use panner and condensed milk as well.

Traditional Milk cake | Kalakand sweet recipe | Milk Barfi preparation with step by step photos and a quick video.
Ingredients
- Milk- 1 liter, full cream milk
- Sugar -3 tbsp
- Lemon juice -½ tsp
- Ghee - 2 tbsp +1 tsp
Directions
- Step 1 Take a large thick bottomed pan and add milk
- Step 2 Heat the milk on medium flame and keep stirring occasionally.
- Step 3 Boil the milk and reduce it to half.
- Step 4 Boil till reduced to 1/3rd
- Step 5 Add lemon juice and stir it well until milk to curdle.
- Step 6 Add sugar and stir continuously and dissolve the sugar well.
- Step 7 Milk thickens and turns slightly golden brown.
- Step 8 Add ghee and mix it well
- Step 9 Transfer the milk mixture to greased pan
- Step 10 Cover with aluminum foil
- Step 11 Allow to cool in 2 hours or till they cool completely.
- Step 12 Once it is cooled completely
- Step 13 Cut the milk cake into pieces.
- Step 14 Enjoy the yummy milk cake

1. Take a large thick bottomed pan and add milk

3. Boil till reduced to 1/3rd
4. Add lemon juice and stir it well until milk to curdle.
5. Add sugar and stir continuously and dissolve the sugar well.
6. Milk thickens and turns slightly golden brown. Add ghee and mix it well
7. Transfer the milk mixture to a greased pan and level up
8. Cover with aluminum foil and towel
9. Allow cooling in 2 hours or till they cool completely.
10. Once it is cooled completely. Cut the milk cake into pieces.
11. Enjoy the yummy milk cake
