Spicy Prawn Masala

This could lead to potential side effects when you have more. You should strictly avoid prawns for dinner. This is a spicy dish which can go white rice or chappathi.

Ingredients
  • Prawn / Shrimp – 250 grams cleaned
  • Cinnamon / Pattai – 1 small stick
  • Fennel Seeds (Saunf /Sombu) – 1/2 tsp
  • Onion – 1 large chopped finely
  • Green Chilli -2
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Ginger Garlic Paste – 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder (Malli podi)- 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder (Manjal podi) – 1/2 tsp
  • Garam Masala powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Tomato – 1 chopped finely
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 3 tbsp
  • Water – 1/2 cup
  • For Marination:
  • Ginger Garlic Paste – 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder (Malli podi) - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder (Manjal podi) – 1/2 tsp
  • Garam Masala powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
Directions
  • Step 1 Take cleaned prawns in a bowl,
  • Step 2 Add ginger garlic paste
  • Step 3 Add half tsp of red chilli powder
  • Step 4 Add coiander powder
  • Step 5 Add garam masala powder
  • Step 6 Add turmeric powder
  • Step 7 Add salt and mix it well. Marinate it 10 minutes
  • Step 8 Take a kadai and heat oil. Add the marinated prawns and saute it well.
  • Step 9 Let it cook for 5 to 7 mins until it is cooked, turns pink and curls.
  • Step 10 Remove the prawns alone in a bowl leaving any of the juices in the kadai.
  • Step 11 Add cinnamon, cloves, fennel seeds and saute it well
  • Step 12 Add chopped onion and saute it well
  • Step 13 Add ginger garlic paste
  • Step 14 Add green chilli and saute it well
  • Step 15 Add chopped tomato and saute it well
  • Step 16 Add few curry leaves and saute it well
  • Step 17 Add red chilli powder
  • Step 18 Add coriander powder
  • Step 19 Add garam masala powder
  • Step 20 Add pepper powder
  • Step 21 Add turmeric powder
  • Step 22 Add salt and saute it well
  • Step 23 Add half a cup of water and saute it well .
  • Step 24 Cover the lid and cook it for 5 minutes until it turns mushy.
  • Step 25 Add the cooked prawns and mix well. Cook for 5 mins.
  • Step 26 Add curry leaves and saute it well
  • Step 27 Serve it with rice or chapathi.

  1. Take cleaned prawns in a bowl.

24. Cover the lid and cook it for 5 minutes until it turns mushy.
