COCONUT CHUTNEY RECIPE/HOW TO MAKE COCONUT CHUTNEY/THENGAI CHUTNEY RECIPE
Ingredients
- Coconut grated (fresh /desiccated) – 1/2 cup
- Roasted gram dal (Pottukadalai) – 2 tbsp
- Green Chilies – 1 small
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Ginger - 1/2 inch
- coriander leave -few
- curry leaves - few
- Water – as required
- Salt –to taste
- for tempering:
- oil- 1 tsp
- urad dal-1/4 tsp
- mustard seeds-1/4 tsp
- curry leaves-1 sprig
- red chilli-1
Directions
- Step 1 Take 1/2 cup of grated coconut .I have used fresh coconut. If you want, you can use desiccated coconut
- Step 2 Add 2 tbsp of roasted garam dal (pottukadalai)
- Step 3 Add one small garlic clove
- Step 4 Add half inch of ginger piece
- Step 5 Add few coriander leaves
- Step 6 Add few curry leaves
- Step 7 Add salt to taste
- Step 8 Add some water graind to a smooth paste
- Step 9 Take the pan heat the oil
- Step 10 Add dired red chilli & curry leaves and saute well
- Step 11 Add dried red chilli
- Step 12 Add curry leaves and saute well
- Step 13 Finally, serve the coconut chutney with idli, dosa, vada or pongal of your choice.

MAKING OF COCONUT CHUTNEY RECIPE:
- Take 1/2 cup of grated coconut .I have used fresh coconut. If you want, you can use desiccated coconut
2. Add 2 tbsp of roasted garam dal (pottukadalai)
3.Add one small garlic clove
4. Add half inch of ginger piece.
5. Add few coriander leaves.
6. Add few curry leaves.
7. Add salt to taste
8. Add some water and grind to smooth paste
9. Take the pan and heat the oil.
10. Add mustard seed and urad dal to allow them to crackle.
11. Add dired red chilli & curry leaves and saute well
12. Transfer to the chutney and mix it well.
13. Finally, serve the coconut chutney with idli, dosa, vada or pongal of your choice.
