Ingredients
- Bhindi (okra / lady's finger) -10
- Small Onions - 1/2 cup
- Curry leaves - few
- Green chilli -2
- Tomato - 1
- Tamarind- lemon sized ball
- Salt - as required
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- To Roast and Grind
- Oil - 1 tsp
- Channa dal - 2 tbsp
- Urad dal - 1 tsp
- Red Chillies - 5
- fenugreek seed(methi seed)- 1/4 th tsp
- Hing (Asafoetida) - pinch
- Rice - 1 tsp
- Garlic - 5 cloves
Directions
- Step 1 Take a pan and heat the oil. Add dried red chilli and saute it well
- Step 2 Add chana dal and saute it well
- Step 3 Add urad dal and saute it well
- Step 4 Add fenugreek seed(methi seed) and saute it well.
- Step 5 Add hing and rice. Saute it well. Keep it aside for cool down.
- Step 6 Once its cooldown, grind it as powder and keep it aside.
- Step 7 Take a pan and heat the oil. Add Bhindi (okra/lady’s finger) and saute it well. keep it aside
- Step 8 Take another pan and heat the oil.
- Step 9 Add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
- Step 10 Add onion and saute it well.
- Step 11 Add curry leaves and green chilli. Saute it well
- Step 12 Add chopped tomato and saute it well
- Step 13 Add fried Bhindi (okra/lady’s finger)
- Step 14 Add Tamarind extract and saute it well
- Step 15 Add water and mix it well
- Step 16 Cover the lid cook for 15 minutes
- Step 17 Add the ground masala powder and mix it well.
