In this recipe, Chicken pieces will be marinated and cooked with whole masalas and rice, this one gives you all the flavors of a biryani. But in Briyani, We will use red chili powder, coriander powder, and tomato. In Pulao, we will just use green chilies and garam masala. This makes pulao milder than briyani and suits for people who prefer mild flavors.

Ingredients
- Basmati Rice - 1 cup
- Onion -3 chopped lengthwise
- Ginger-Garlic paste - 1 tbsp
- Water - 1.5 cup
- Salt - to taste
- Green Chillies -8
- Oil- 1 tbsp
- Ghee-1 tbsp
- Cinnamon stick (Pattai/Dalchini) - ½ inch
- Cloves (Karampu/Lavang)-2
- Star Anise (Anisipu/Chakkar phool)-2
- Black Stone Flower(Kalpasi)-1
- Kapok Buds(Marathi moggu)-1
- Bay leaf(tej patta)-1
- Cardamom - 3
- For Marinade :
- Curd - ½ cup
- Chicken - ½ kg
- Garam masala powder-1 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
- Mint leaves - 1 tbsp
- lemon juice-1 tsp
Directions
- Step 1 Take a mixing bowl and add cleaned chicken
- Step 2 Add curd
- Step 3 Add lemon juice
- Step 4 Add coriander leaves
- Step 5 Add mint leaves
- Step 6 Add salt
- Step 7 Add garam masala powder and mix it well.
- Step 8 Marinade for 1 hour
- Step 9 Heat a pressure cooker and add oil.
- Step 10 Add Bay leaf(tej patta).
- Step 11 Add Cinnamon stick (Pattai/Dalchini)
- Step 12 Add Cloves (Karampu/Lavang)
- Step 13 Add Cardamom(Elachi)
- Step 14 Add Star Anise (Anisipu/Chakkar Phool)
- Step 15 Add Black Stone Flower(Kalpasi)
- Step 16 Add Kapok Buds(Marathi moggu)
- Step 17 Add Pepper (Milagu/Kali Mirch)
- Step 18 Add onion and saute it well
- Step 19 Add salt and mix it well
- Step 20 Add ginger garlic paste and saute it well
- Step 21 Add green chilli and saute it well
- Step 22 Add marinated chicken and mix it well
- Step 23 Cook, it for 5 minutes
- Step 24 add soaked basmati rice
- Step 25 Add water and mix it gently
- Step 26 Add ghee and mix it well
- Step 27 Cover the lid and cook for 2 whistles.
- Step 28 Once pressure releases, fluff it carefully without breaking the rice.
- Step 29 Serve it hot with onion raita…. yummm !!!!

27. Cover the lid and cook for 2 whistles.
28. Once pressure releases, fluff it carefully without breaking the rice.
29. Serve it hot with onion raita…. yummm !!!!
