Ingredients
- Sabudana (tapioca / sago)- 1 cup
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Jeera (cumin)-1 tsp
- Green chilli - 3 slit
- Boiled potato (aloo) - 1 chopped
- Peanuts (roasted & crushed)-4 tbsp
- Salt - to taste
- Lemon - half
Directions
- Step 1 Rinse sabudana under water until water turns clear. This is important to get rid of all the starch. Transfer the rinsed sabudana to a large bowl and add water to it and soak it for 3 hours. Drain off the sabudana well in a strainer and keep it aside.
- Step 2 Heat a pan and add oil
- Step 3 Add jeera and let it splutter
- Step 4 Add curry leaves
- Step 5 Add green chilli and saute it well
- Step 6 Add chopped boiled potato and saute it for few minutes
- Step 7 add salt and mix until well combined.
- Step 8 Add the drained sabudana to the pan and mix it well
- Step 9 Add peanuts (roasted & crushed) and mix it well
- Step 10 Cook for few minutes until most of the sabudana pearls become translucent, stirring once or twice. Do not cook it for a long time else it will become sticky.
- Step 11 Add lemon juice and toss to combine.
- Step 12 Serve sabudana khichdi hot with chilled yoghurt.
