Luqaimat Dumplings/Loukoumades Recipe /Lokma Recipe / Greek Sweet Ball preparation with step by step photos and a quick video. Luqaimat is crunchy sweet dumplings. It’s one of Qatar’s most favorite sweet and you can find it in most of the home during festival sessions. This dumpling is very easy to make and takes just a few minutes to whip up the batter, shape it into small balls and deep fry it. Luqaumat will be crunchy outside and soft inside. Sweetness can be easily controlled in sugar syrup or while pouring on top of dumplings. Since we are adding yeast, dumplings will double in size while frying it. So adjust the size accordingly.

Ingredients
- Maida (all purpose flour)- 2 ½ cup
- Sugar -1 tbsp
- Corn flour-¼ th cup
- Dry yeast -1 tbsp
- Salt - 1/4 tsp
- Lukewarm water - 1 ½ cup
- Sugar syrup:
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Water - 1 cup
- lemon juice 1 tbsp
Directions
- Step 1 Take a mixing bowl and add maida (all purpose flour)
- Step 2 Add Corn flour
- Step 3 Add sugar
- Step 4 Add salt
- Step 5 Add Instant yeast and mix it well
- Step 6 Add lukewarm water and mix gently
- Step 7 Cover and rest for 1 hour
- Step 8 Once its done and remove the cover and mix gently
- Step 9 Take a pan and add sugar
- Step 10 Add water
- Step 11 Add lemon juice and mix it well
- Step 12 Bring to boil for 5 minutes and keep it aside
- Step 13 Take a pan and heat oil .
- Step 14 Dip a spoon in separate oil, then take a half teaspoon from batter, and drop it
- Step 15 Take a handful of dough with wet hands. Squeeze out the dough between your fingers like how it is shown in the video demo. Scoop out to the oil and fry it.
- Step 16 The dumplings will double in size.
- Step 17 Fry and keep turning to the dumplings are cooked on all sides.
- Step 18 Remove it from the oil when its turn golden brown on all sides.
- Step 19 Drain off the excess oil from the dumplings.
- Step 20 Drizzle or dip the Luqaimat in the prepared sugar syrup.
- Step 21 Qatar’s famous luqaimat is ready !!!
