Ingredients
- Bread -10 slices
- Melted butter -½ cup
- Fresh cream - 1½ cups
- Pistachios - ¼ cup
- Sugar syrup :
- Sugar -½ cup
- Water - ½ cup
- Lemon juice - just a squeeze
- Rose essence - 1 tsp
Directions
- Step 1 Preheat oven to 180 degree celsius. Grease the pan with oil and line with parchment paper. Parchment paper helps the cakes seamlessly release from the pans. keep it aside
- Step 2 Meanwhile, let’s prepare the sugar syrup. Take a pan and add sugar
- Step 3 Add water
- Step 4 Add lemon juice
- Step 5 Add rose water and mix it well
- Step 6 Cook for 5 minutes. Its turns sticky consistency and keep it aside
- Step 7 Take a mixer to add bread slices
- Step 8 Make it bread crumbs
- Step 9 Take a mixing bowl and add bread crumbs
- Step 10 add melted butter and mix it well. keet it aside
- Step 11 Take fresh cream
- Step 12 Add crushed pistachios and mix it well. (You could add cashew, almonds, walnuts too)
- Step 13 Add half of the bread crumbs and evenly spread with your hands or spatula
- Step 14 Add nuts and cream mixture and spread evenly
- Step 15 Add remaining bread crumbs and spread evenly
- Step 16 Place the cake tray into the preheated oven. Bake the cake at 180-degree Celsius or 356 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes.
- Step 17 Once the baking is done, take out the kunafa and cool down to room temperature
- Step 18 pour the warm syrup. This makes sugar syrup to observe completely.
- Step 19 Homemade bread kunafa is ready for serving. Keep it in refrigerate.
