Sprouted Horse Gram Gravy|Horsegram Masala Saaru|Mulai Kattiya Kollu Kuzhambu preparation with step by step photos and a quick video
Ingredients
- Sprouted horse gram dal (Kollu/ Kulith) -½ cup
- Tomato - 1 chopped
- Small onion - ½ cup
- Dried red chili -8
- Turmeric powder -½ tsp
- Curry leaves - few
- Jeera(Cumin) - 1 tsp
- Coriander seeds -2 tbsp
- Rice - 1 tsp
- Oil -2 tbsp
- Salt - to taste
- Mustard-1 tsp
- Coconut - ¼ cup
Directions
- Step 1 Take a pressure cooker and add Sprouted horse gram dal
- Step 2 Add chopped tomato
- Step 3 Add Turmeric powder
- Step 4 Add water
- Step 5 Cover the lid and pressure cook in medium flame for 10 whistles or until the lentil is cooked well.
- Step 6 Take a pan and add oil
- Step 7 Add dried red chili and saute it well
- Step 8 Add jeera
- Step 9 Add coriander seeds and saute it well
- Step 10 Add rice and saute it well
- Step 11 Add small onion and saute it for few minutes
- Step 12 add coconut and mix it well
- Step 13 Add cooked sprouted horse gram dal
- Step 14 Once its cooldown, grind it as smooth paste and keep it aside.
- Step 15 Take a pan and cooked sprouted horse gram dal
- Step 16 Add the prepared masala paste and mix it well
- Step 17 add salt
- Step 18 add required water and cover the lid. Cook for 10 minutes.
- Step 19 Heat the tadka pan and add oil
- Step 20 add mustard seeds and let it splutter
- Step 21 Add curry leaves and saute it well
- Step 22 Pour the tempering over sprouted horse gram dal gravy and serve it for hot rice
