Rice kheer recipe | Paal payasam | Chawal ki kheer | Rice payasam preparation with step by step photos and a quick video. Typical Indian hotel meals are finished off with sweets. Rice Kheer | Paal payasam is a creamy Indian rice pudding made with only three/four basic ingredients – rice, milk, Coconut, and sugar. The ingredients are so readily available in most of our homes. Almond and pistachios are added for garnish and its completely optional. For flavorings, I have used cardamom powder. This is a super easy recipe to make and is made with one pan or one-pot method.

Rice kheer recipe | Paal payasam | Chawal ki kheer | Rice payasam preparation with step by step photos and a quick video.

Ingredients
  • Rice -2 tbsp
  • Milk - 3 cup,½ liter
  • Sugar -¼ cup
  • Dry Coconut - 2 tbsp
  • Almond - 2 tsp
  • Pistachios - 2 tsp
  • Cardamom Powder - ½ tsp
Directions
  • Step 1 Take a large Kadai and add water
  • Step 2 Add milk and stir and boil
  • Step 3 Add soaked rice and stir it well.
  • Step 4 Simmer and cook for 15 minutes or until the rice cooked well.
  • Step 5 Add chopped almond
  • Step 6 Add chopped pistachios(If you like you could use cashew and raisins)
  • Step 7 Add chopped coconut and mix it well
  • Step 8 Add cardamom powder and mix it well
  • Step 9 Add sugar and stir it well.
  • Step 10 Boil for 2 minutes or until sugar dissolved completely.
  • Step 11 Enjoy rice kheer hot or chilled

1.  Take a large Kadai and add water
