Ingredients
- Prawn / Shrimp – 250 grams cleaned
- Cinnamon / Pattai – 1 small stick
- Fennel Seeds (Saunf /Sombu) – 1/2 tsp
- Onion – 1 large chopped finely
- Green Chilli -2
- Curry leaves – few
- Ginger Garlic Paste – 1/2 tsp
- Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder (Malli podi)- 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder (Manjal podi) – 1/2 tsp
- Garam Masala powder – 1/2 tsp
- Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
- Tomato – 1 chopped finely
- Salt to taste
- Oil – 3 tbsp
- Water – 1/2 cup
- For Marination:
- Ginger Garlic Paste – 1/2 tsp
- Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder (Malli podi) - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder (Manjal podi) – 1/2 tsp
- Garam Masala powder – 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
Directions
- Step 1 Take cleaned prawns in a bowl,
- Step 2 Add ginger garlic paste
- Step 3 Add half tsp of red chilli powder
- Step 4 Add coiander powder
- Step 5 Add garam masala powder
- Step 6 Add turmeric powder
- Step 7 Add salt and mix it well. Marinate it 10 minutes
- Step 8 Take a kadai and heat oil. Add the marinated prawns and saute it well.
- Step 9 Let it cook for 5 to 7 mins until it is cooked, turns pink and curls.
- Step 10 Remove the prawns alone in a bowl leaving any of the juices in the kadai.
- Step 11 Add cinnamon, cloves, fennel seeds and saute it well
- Step 12 Add chopped onion and saute it well
- Step 13 Add ginger garlic paste
- Step 14 Add green chilli and saute it well
- Step 15 Add chopped tomato and saute it well
- Step 16 Add few curry leaves and saute it well
- Step 17 Add red chilli powder
- Step 18 Add coriander powder
- Step 19 Add garam masala powder
- Step 20 Add pepper powder
- Step 21 Add turmeric powder
- Step 22 Add salt and saute it well
- Step 23 Add half a cup of water and saute it well .
- Step 24 Cover the lid and cook it for 5 minutes until it turns mushy.
- Step 25 Add the cooked prawns and mix well. Cook for 5 mins.
- Step 26 Add curry leaves and saute it well
- Step 27 Serve it with rice or chapathi.
