Ingredients
- Maida ( plain flour / all purpose flour) - 260 grams
- Unsweetened cocoa powder -¾ cup (75 grams)
- Baking powder-2 tsp (8 grams)
- Baking soda- ¾ tsp (3 grams)
- Salt- ½ tsp (2 grams)
- Eggs -2 large(100 grams), at room temperature
- Granulated white sugar-1 ½ cups (300 grams)
- Unsalted butter -½ cup (113 grams) melted and cooled to room temperature
- Buttermilk -1 cup (240 ml/grams) at room temperature
- Pure vanilla extract -2 tsp (8 grams)
- Apple (peeled, cored, and shredded) -2 cups (270 grams)
Directions
- Step 1 Preheat oven to 180 degree Celsius( 350 degrees F). Grease the pan with oil and keep it aside
- Step 2 Take a large bowl and add Maida ( plain flour / all-purpose flour)
- Step 3 Add unsweetened cocoa powder
- Step 4 Add salt
- Step 5 Add baking soda
- Step 6 Add baking powder and mix it well. Keep it aside
- Step 7 Take another bowl and add the egg. beat it well until frothy
- Step 8 add sugar and mix it well
- Step 9 Add buttermilk and mix it well
- Step 10 Add vanilla extract and mix it well
- Step 11 Add butter and mix it well
- Step 12 Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk it well until combined
- Step 13 Add shredded apple and mix gently
- Step 14 Transfer the batter to the cake pan
- Step 15 Place the cake tray into the preheated oven.
- Step 16 Bake the cake at 180-degree Celsius or 356 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. (Insert a toothpick at the center and see if it comes out clean. Else bake for 5 more minutes.)
- Step 17 Allow the cake to cool down completely. Later, cut into slices and serve.
