Whole wheat chocolate muffins recipe | Healthy chocolate chip muffins preparation with step by step photos and a quick video. Muffins are nothing but a small cake, typically made with traditional cake batter. It is baked in a small thin paper cups which holds and gives shape to these wonderful tiny cakes. Unlike my previous recipes blueberry muffins and banana walnut muffins, I have used whole wheat flour to make these chocolate muffins. If you are a chocolate lover, you must try this recipe. I have used choco chips for flavoring. I would recommend consuming the cake on the same day or at least the very next day.

Whole wheat chocolate muffins recipe | Healthy chocolate chip muffins preparation with step by step photos and a quick video
Ingredients
- Whole wheat flour -1 cup
- Cocoa powder - ¼ cup
- Baking soda - ¼ tsp
- Baking powder - 1 tsp
- Salt -¼ tsp
- Egg - 1
- Buttermilk - ½ cup
- Brown sugar - ½ cup
- Butter - 2 tbsp
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Vanilla Extract - 1 tsp
- Choco chips - 4 tbsp
Directions
- Step 1 Preheat oven to 200 degree celsius for 10 mins.
- Step 2 Take a mixing bowl and add buttermilk
- Step 3 Add egg
- Step 4 Add butter
- Step 5 Add sugar
- Step 6 Add oil and whisk until combined well
- Step 7 Add all whole wheat flour
- Step 8 add cocoa powder
- Step 9 Add vanilla essence
- Step 10 Add baking powder
- Step 11 add baking soda
- Step 12 Add salt and mix it well.
- Step 13 Add choco chips and mix it well. The batter is thickish and scoopable.
- Step 14 Scoop the cake batter and pour it into cupcake liners to ¾(three forth) full. Don’t fill it completely to avoid overflow while baking.
- Step 15 Roughly spread few choco chips over the cupcake batter.
- Step 16 Bake the cake at 200°C degrees celsius for 20 minutes.
- Step 17 Insert a toothpick at the center and see if it comes out clean. Else bake for 5 more minutes..
- Step 18 Now remove it from the tray and let it cool.
- Step 19 Enjoy the yummy and wheat chocolate muffins

8. Add vanilla essence
9. Add baking powder
10. Add baking soda
11. Add salt and mix it well.
12. Add choco chips and mix it well. The batter is thickish and scoopable.
13. Scoop the cake batter and pour it into cupcake liners to ¾(three forth) full. Don’t fill it completely to avoid overflow while baking.
14. Roughly spread few choco chips over the cupcake batter.
15. Bake the cake at 200°C degrees celsius for 20 minutes.
16. Insert a toothpick at the center and see if it comes out clean. Else bake for 5 more minutes. Remove it from the tray and let it cool.
