It is prepared from green gram pulse and typically served for breakfast with the combination of upma and ginger chutney. It’s is a healthy & nutritious Dosa variety and it’s a Vegan as well as Gluten-free. Pesaeattu an instant dosa prepared with protein-rich green moong dal instead of rice and urad dal. It doesn’t require any fermentation as well. These healthy crepes are a popular breakfast.

Pesarattu dosa | Andhra Pesarattu | Moong dal dosa
Pesarattu dosa | Andhra Pesarattu | Moong dal dosa preparation with step by step photos and a quick video.
Ingredients
- Whole green gram(Paasi payaru) – 1 cup
- Rice - ½ cup
- Green chilies – 3
- Curry leaves -few
- Onion – 1, chopped finely
- Ginger – 1-inch piece
- Salt – to taste
- Water – as required
Directions
- Step 1 Take a large bowl and add moong dal
- Step 2 Add rice
- Step 3 Add water and soak it for at least overnight or 4 – 8 hours.
- Step 4 Drain off the water and transfer to the mixer jar
- Step 5 Add ginger
- Step 6 Add green chili
- Step 7 Add few curry leaves
- Step 8 Add jeera
- Step 9 Add water
- Step 10 Blend to the smooth batter, add water if required.
- Step 11 Transfer to a large bowl.
- Step 12 Add salt to taste and mix it well. Adjust the batter consistency by adding water
- Step 13 Pour a ladleful of the batter on a hot griddle.
- Step 14 Spread it in a circular motion thin circle.
- Step 15 Add finely chopped onions.
- Step 16 Add oil over the pesarattu.
- Step 17 press gently, so that the onions stick to dosa.
- Step 18 Slowly remove the dosa from the ends. Flip over the dosa and cook both sides.
- Step 19 Fold dosa to your desire shape.
- Step 20 Serve pesarattu with hot coconut chutney.

1. Take a large bowl and add moong dal
2. Add rice
3. Add water and soak it for at least overnight or 4 – 8 hours.

5. Add ginger
6. Add green chili
7. Add few curry leaves
8. add jeera
9. Add water
10. Blend to the smooth batter, add water if required.
11. Transfer to a large bowl.
12. Add salt to taste and mix it well. Adjust the batter consistency by adding water
