Tandoori paneer recipe| Tandoori Paneer Tikka preparation with step by step photos and a quick video. Paneer tikka is an Indian appetizer where paneer chunks marinated in spiced yogurt along with diced onions and capsicum. The Indian spice powders mixed with the yogurt(curd) make a flavourful marinade that is soaked up by the cottage cheese cubes. Traditionally paneer tikka was made in clay ovens. I have cooked on a Tawa on a medium flame until cooked from all the sides. To get a smoky flavor, I have used charcoal. This makes you feel that the recipe is made in a clay oven.

Tandoori paneer recipe| Tandoori Paneer Tikka preparation with step by step photos and a quick video.
Ingredients
- Paneer - 1 cup ,250 grams
- Butter - 2 tbsp
- For Marination:
- Thick curd / yogurt - ½ cup
- Kashmiri red chilly powder - 1 tbsp
- Coriander Powder - ½ tsp
- Cumin powder- ½ tsp
- Amchoor Powder - ½ tsp
- Black pepper powder-½ tsp
- Garam masala powder - ½ tsp
- Turmeric powder / manjal podi -½ tsp
- Ginger garlic paste -1 tsp
- Kasuri methi leaves - 1 tsp
- Salt - to taste
Directions
- Step 1 Take a mixing bowl and add hung curd
- Step 2 Add kashmiri red chilly powder
- Step 3 Add Coriander Powder
- Step 4 Add cumin powder
- Step 5 Add pepper powder
- Step 6 Add garam masala powder
- Step 7 Add amchoor powder
- Step 8 Add kasuri methi leaves
- Step 9 Add salt to taste
- Step 10 Add turmeric powder / manjal podi and mix it well
- Step 11 Add onion petals
- Step 12 Add cubed capsicum
- Step 13 Add paneer cubes and mix gently
- Step 14 Add ginger garlic paste and mix it well
- Step 15 Cover andrest for 30 minutes.
- Step 16 Skewer paneer cubes alternating with onions, capsicum. This should make about 3-4 skewers.
- Step 17 Place the skewers on the hot Tawa
- Step 18 Cook it on both sides until it turns golden color
- Step 19 To add that distinct smoky tandoori flavor, heat a piece of lump coal till red hot.
- Step 20 Place it in a steel bowl and place the bowl over the paneer. Add a teaspoon of oil to the coal. As soon as you start seeing smoke, cover the paneer.
- Step 21 Cook for one minute, then remove the coal
- Step 22 Serve immediately with sliced onions and lemon

7. Add amchoor powder
8. Add Kasuri methi leaves
9. Add salt to taste
10. Add turmeric powder / manjal podi and mix it well
11. Add onion petals
12. Add cubed capsicum
13. add paneer cubes and mix gently
14. Add ginger garlic paste and mix it well
15. Cover and rest for 30 minutes.
16. Skewer paneer cubes alternating with onions, capsicum. This should make about 3-4 skewers.
