Here is the fluffy, simple no fancy, vanilla-scented cake and moist cake recipe. This is a popular basic butter cake which can be topped with any frosting or topping or even served as it is. We can this cake in most of the bakery in all over the places in India. Commonly we call it “Teacake” in India. I see people love to dip the cake in Tea and have it. The cake batter consistency is very important and it has to be of dropping consistency. I have used the spatula to mix both wet and dry ingredients. If you use wisk, it will lose its fluffiness. Hot Milk Sponge Cake Recipe | Tea Cake | Best hot milk vanilla sponge cake preparation with step by step photos and a quick video.
Ingredients
- Maida or plain flour -1 cup or 130g
- Egg - 2
- Sugar -1 cup or 175g
- Butter - 60 gm
- Milk -½ cup or 125ml
- Vanilla essence -1 tsp
- Baking powder -1tsp
Directions
- Step 1 Preheat oven to 180 degree C. Line with parchment paper and set aside.
- Step 2 Take a pan and add milk
- Step 3 add butter and mix it well until the butter completely melts. Keep it aside
- Step 4 Take a bowl and add egg and beat it well until it turns creamy and fluffy
- Step 5 Add in sugar and beat again.
- Step 6 Add flour
- Step 7 Add baking powder and fold gently.
- Step 8 Add vanilla
- Step 9 Add hot milk and butter mixture and fold gently.
- Step 10 Now pour the batter into the prepared baking pan then gently shake and tap the tin couple of times to spread the batter evenly.
- Step 11 Bake it in a preheated oven for about 40- 45 minutes. (Insert a toothpick at the center and see if it comes out clean. Else bake for 5 more minutes.)
- Step 12 Remove the cake pan from the heat and transfer the cake pan to a cooling rack. Allow cake to cool down completely.
- Step 13 Now slice them squares and enjoy your hot milk cake

1. Take a pan and add milk
2. Add butter and mix it well until the butter completely melts. Keep it aside
3. Take a bowl and add egg and beat it well until it turns creamy and fluffy
4. Add in sugar and beat again.
5. Add flour
6. Add baking powder and fold gently
7. Add vanilla
8. Add hot milk and butter mixture and fold gently.
9. Now pour the batter into the prepared baking pan then gently shake and tap the tin couple of times to spread the batter evenly.
10. Bake it in a preheated oven for about 40- 45 minutes. (Insert a toothpick at the center and see if it comes out clean. Else bake for 5 more minutes.)
