Ingredients
- Nethili Meen (Anchovy) - 1/2 kg
- Ginger Garlic Paste = 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
- Sambar powder - 1 tsp
- Gram Flour - 2 tbsp
- Oil - for deep fry
- Curry leaves - few
Directions
- Step 1 Take fresh anchovies and clean them well. Add the cleaned anchovies fish in a bowl.
- Step 2 Add ginger garlic paste.
- Step 3 Add turmeric powder.
- Step 4 Add chilli powder.
- Step 5 Add sambar powder (kulambu milagai thool).
- Step 6 Add salt to taste.
- Step 7 Add gram flour (Kadalai Mavu) – 2 tbsp
- Step 8 Add 2 tbsp of water and mix till the masala gets coated well to fish
- Step 9 Let it marinate for 30 mins.
- Step 10 Drop the masala coated fish one by one into the medium hot oil.
- Step 11 Stir occasionally and fry till fish turn crunchy.
- Step 12 Fry few curry leaves till it turns crisp.
- Step 13 Drain off the fish over a kitchen towel to remove excess oil.
- Step 14 Serve hot with a squeeze of lemon juice.
