Here we go. This recipe uses very simple ingredients that you most likely will already have in your pantry. It’s is refined-sugar free, eggless, and made with whole wheat. Hope this whole wheat jaggery cake ticks all those boxes. As per the below measurement, it’s lightly sweetened. If you prefer a sweeter cake, I would suggest increasing the jaggery quantity in the recipe. For the crunch, I have added walnuts, but you can add any nuts of your choice or even skip the nuts if you don’t have.

Eggless Whole Wheat Jaggery Cake | No sugar | No egg | whole wheat cake preparation with step by step photos and a quick video.
Ingredients
- Whole wheat flour atta -1½ cups
- Baking powder -½ tsp
- Baking soda -½ tsp
- Cinnamon powder -½ tsp
- Salt - a pinch
- Oil -½ cup
- Plain yogurt -½ cup
- Powdered jaggery -130 grams,measured after sifting the jaggery powder
- Vanilla Extract - 1 tsp
- Milk -½ cup + 2 tbsp,150 ml
- Walnut - ¼ cup
Directions
- Step 1 Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees celsius 350 F degrees. Grease the 8 x 4-inch loaf pan with oil and keep it aside
- Step 2 Take a mixing bowl and add oil
- Step 3 Add whisked plain yogurt
- Step 4 Add Sifted jaggery powder
- Step 5 Add vanilla extract and beat it well or until everything is well combined.
- Step 6 Add whole wheat flour
- Step 7 Add cinnamon powder
- Step 8 Add baking soda
- Step 9 Add baking powder
- Step 10 add a pinch of salt
- Step 11 Add the milk and mix it well until everything combined well
- Step 12 Add walnuts and fold it well using a spatula
- Step 13 Transfer batter to the prepared pan.
- Step 14 Pat the dish gently to even out the surface
- Step 15 Place the cake tray into the preheated oven.
- Step 16 Bake the cake at 180-degree Celsius or 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 to 50 minutes.
- Step 17 Insert a toothpick at the center and see if it comes out clean. Else bake for 5 more minutes..
- Step 18 Now remove it from the tray and let it cool. Don’t try to slice it until it’s completely cool.
- Step 19 Later, cut into slices and serve.
